Danish biotech company Visibuilt receives €3.34mn in seed funding

Visibuilt, a Danish biotech company that is developing biobased alternatives to conventional carbon-intensive construction binders, has raised EUR 3.34mn for its seed round funding co-led by EIFO and Unconventional Ventures.

Other investors are Proptechfonden and early investor EMDFonden.

Visibuilt will use the funding to expand testing and validating activities, establish the production setup required for larger-scale trails and strengthen the team with additional technical and commercial expertise.

About Visibuilt
The construction and infrastructure industry rely on binders such as bitumen and cement – both which are associated with carbon emissions. To solve this issue, the company is developing visiBINDER, a biobased binder produced from mycelium. It offers a less energy-intensive solution for paving materials, while meeting the durability and performance requirements
