ICVCM approves Isometric, Verra’s VMM0047 ARR standard

In its latest assessment decisions, the ICVCM has approved Isometric’s carbon-crediting standard, which focuses on carbon dioxide removal (CDR), joining established programmes such as ACR, ART, CAR, Gold Standard and Verra.

Additionally, Verra’s VMM0047 ARR methodology has also been approved, though no carbon credits have yet been issued.

These approvals signify that both programmes have successfully demonstrated compliance with the core carbon principles (CCPs) for effective governance, transparency and independent validation and verification. The programmes have also satisfied CCPs programme-related rules on the quantification of emissions reductions and removals, ensuring no double counting occurs, while delivering sustainable development benefits.

The assessment process continues for two other methodologies: the ART TREES HFLD and removals modules, as well as methodologies related to clean cookstove projects. The ICVCM expects to announce decisions on these programmes in early 2025.
